International Highschool Alexandre Dumas, Algiers
This restructuring project is part of a context of continuous change over the past fifteen years, and must still anticipate future developments resulting from the steady growth of its effectives. The implementation of new constructions is reveals the intrinsic logic of the initial design: all buildings, new and existing, are built around middle and high school yards, which become free spaces to be preserved in the long term, for future extensions.
Clearly identified and separate, while communicating, the two courtyards each total more than 3000m2 shared between mineral surfaces and green spaces. Each has a centrally positioned shaded area, these spaces being places of life, essential in such a school establishment.
